409 athletes won medals at Salt Lake City. The oldest was 45-year old Canadian curler Ken Tralnberg. He was the alternate in the Canadian men's team that won the Silver medal. The youngest was Korean short track speed skater Ko Gi-Hyun. At 15 years of age, she won the Gold in the 1500m event and the Silver in the 1000m event.
